Supports for Under 12 year old children

  • Kidpreneur is an entrepreneurial education programme for primary school children combined with a practical project in an out of school setting.
  • The literacy support project for children involves the provision of an informal and fun based literacy support service for children whose parents may have difficulties in assisting their children with homework. The service is delivered in a group setting and will take place in the local library or a similar suitable environment. 6 services will be established in West Cork towns and villages.

Supports for children aged 12 to 15

  • Getting involved will allow children to explore their interests in areas such as music, craft, photography, activities.  Using these interests, this action will encourage participation by building confidence and developing skills. This action will provide leadership opportunities for the participants as they will have the opportunity to lead the group in their own specialist area.
  • Talking it out is an event organised to bring together children aged 12-15 from secondary schools in West Cork. The day-long event will focus on the need for children to be mindful of their own mental health and to be mindful of how their friends are doing. Workshops involving the children will be held prior to the event in each school. These workshops will inform the content of the day event.
