National Walks Scheme

The National Walks Scheme was launched on Tuesday March 4th 2008 by Minister Éamon Ó Cuív. The Sheep’s Head Way in West Cork is one of four walks selected for the initial introduction of the scheme. West Cork Development Partnership has been assigned the responsibility of administering the scheme with the assistance of the Sheeps Head Way Committee, the National Trails Office at the Irish Sports Council and Failte Ireland. West Cork Development Partnership is encouraging all farmers and landowners through whose property the Sheep’s Head Way passes to complete an expression of interest form if they are interested in participating in the Scheme. For further information please contact Arran O Driscoll 023 8834035 or arran@wcdp.ie. You can also view more details on the pobail website – click here to open the programme booklet.
