National Trails Day 2010

Welcoming People into the Irish Outdoors

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY is a celebration of Ireland’s wonderful variety of trails and a chance for everyone to enjoy some of our most beautiful countryside, forests, mountains and lakes.

This year National Trails Day will be held on Sunday, 3rd of October and it is hoped that the event will be even bigger and better than last year with more events being organised on trails around the country.

National Trails Day is a great way of increasing awareness about local trails.

One event  taking place locally is on the Alpaca Walk in  Casteldeonovan, Drimoleague. This is a farm walk alongside unspoilt rivers with spectacular waterfalls and pools plus stunning views of rolling hills and mountains.  Another guided walk is going ahead on the Cahir Loop Walk on the Sheeps Head Way which will take you along a beautiful coastal walk and mountain track.   For further information on both events such as contact details, directions, meeting points, times, durations and other general instructions please click here:
