Future West Cork

Future West Cork is an innovative initiative designed to bring West Cork Communities together to discuss their ideas about how the region will develop into the future. Through a series of local workshops the people of West Cork will determine a common vision. Everyone in West Cork has a shared interest in how the region develops and what the future holds. Working together is the only way we can achieve the level of prosperity we all desire.

A series of workshops took place from May 16-19 and were highly successful. Facilitated by world renound Community and Economic Development experts David Beurle and Juliet Fox, the workshops marked the beginning of an ambitious project designed to stimulate a region wide discussion about the future of West Cork. People from across the full spectrum of business, community, political and environmental groups took part.

In June and September 2011 a series of locally based workshops will be facilitated in towns and villages across West Cork and anyone with an interest in seeing West Cork develop as an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, dynamic and prosperous region into the Future should attend. Developing a critical mass of popular consensus in West Cork is vital in tems of realising these goals and in order for that to be achieved there must be real and significant engagement from the West Cork people.

Further information of these local workshops will be posted here shortly…
