Employment & Training

We have a range of resources available to people in West Cork who are jobseeking. We also run a number of programmes offering employment opportunities to people in receipt of payments from the Department of Social Protection.

www.westcorkjobsupport.com – Information, tools, links, exchanges and resources you find here can help you on your route to employment.

Back To Work Enterprise Allowance – Keep a proportion of your social welfare payment, plus secondary benefits whilst taking up self employment opportunities and getting one-to-one guidance.

Tús Programme – A community work placement programme providing short-term working opportunities for unemployed people.

The Rural Social Scheme – Provides community-based work on a part-time basis to both farmers and fishermen.

At WCDP we are continuously providing training to meet the needs of small businesses, community groups and unemployed people in West Cork. Our training programmes are designed to give people access to new skills so that they can add value to their business, improve the quality of their local community or increase their employment prospects.

We take great care in selecting high quality trainers who can deliver informative, engaging and effective programmes. Our training programmes are delivered in a group setting where knowledge sharing and networking are actively encouraged.
