Charity Begins At Home

Charity Begins At Home

The saying charity begins at home will no doubt a very familiar saying to most of us.  Never has there been more awareness of the need for charity within our community.

This film showcases how we can support the very needs within our community.  The Little Way Charity Shop in Schull is without any doubt the fore-front leading charity shop in West Cork.  From a true calling of commitment, Nellie Cotter together with the support of the Tús programme, local volunteers and the CE scheme all contribute to the running of the charity shop.  Numerous groups and organisations throughout West Cork benefit from proceeds of the Little Way.

The Tús Community programme is a well-received quality programme providing a one year short term placement for the unemployed.  The Tús Programme will support mentoring, development and an understanding of the participants of Tús.

This video has been filmed & produced by Colm Rooney, a Tús participant.  Colm is a very talented individual who’s skills and Qualities were recognised by Tús Mentors of the West Cork Development Partnership.

We are now looking forward to the sequel film produced by Colm.  This will showcase just some of the very exiting community projects in West Cork and the Tús participants working on them.  Watch this space!
