Better Together Community Video Competition – €3000 Prize

The clock is ticking down to 5 November, when Better Together 2012 closes to entries. At the same time however the number of visits by members of the public to the Better Together website is ticking up at an incredible rate!

In fact, we’ve had almost 2 million page views on www.bettertogether.ie since the campaign launched a few weeks ago. In addition to this, literally tens of thousands of votes have been cast for dozens of videos and Charity Hero nominations during this period.

So, clearly, the public has been fully engaged with the Better Together 2012 Campaign.

Have You?

Happily, there is still plenty of time to get involved and to put your organisation in contention for winning a cash prize and significantly boosting your public profile. Here’s how…

1. Submit a video to the Better Together Video Competition

You don’t need to produce an Oscar winning opus here. If you’ve got a camera phone and a good imagination, you’re ready to start rolling.

What we’re looking for…

We’re after videos that are creative; that communicate what your organisation does; that reflect the theme of “Better Together”; and that explain how the public can get involved with and support your cause. Crucially, all videos must be two-minutes or less in length.

Enter your video now.

Once your video is live on www.bettertogether.ie, you’ll have until 19 November to rally the public and your supporters to vote for your entry. The Top 10 most voted for videos within the 3 entry categories (big, medium and small/voluntary organisations) will then go forward to the judging process.

Prize: the winning video in each of the 3 categories will win €3,000 each.

2. Nominate a Charity Hero

Do you have a particularly tireless and energetic volunteer involved with your organisation? If so, then why not thank them by nominating them for the Better Together Charity Hero Award?!

It takes only moments to submit a nomination but the good feeling that you will generate in doing so can last a lifetime.

Nominate your Charity Hero now.

You’ll have until 19 November to vote your nominee into the Top 10 most voted for Heroes. Our panel of independent judges will then decide the overall winner.

Prize: Ireland’s Charity Hero will win €1,000 to donate to their favourite cause.
